Od 8 do 14 lipca 2016 r. w Galerii U Jezuitów zostanie zaprezentowana wystawa współczesnej sztuki japońskiej pod nazwą "A-21 International Art Exhibition".
Kuratorami wystawy są: Tomio Matsuda i Katarzyna Kujawska-Murphy.

A-21 INTERNATIONAL ART EXHIBITION to międzynarodowa artystyczna organizacja japońskich artystów zgromadzonych głównie w rejonie Kansai – gdzie głównym ośrodkiem jest Osaka. Od roku 2000 grupa stała się częścią życia artystycznego Europy, gównie Polski także Niemiec, Francji, Anglii. Większość projektów posiada honorowy patronat Ambasad: Japońskiej w Polsce oraz Polskiej w Japonii.
Wyjątkowość grupy A-21 to jest to, iż celebruje tradycyjne metody twórczości: artyści sami produkują własny papier ryżowy, własne pigmenty, tusze, ceramikę, której technologia kwitnie od tysięcy lat. Motto artystów zrzeszonych w A-21 to wyświetlić serca Japończyków i odzwierciedlać korzenie starej japońskiej kultury - 1000 lat do współczesności. Odbiorca może oczekiwać przedstawienia bardzo szczególnej japońskiej wrażliwości ludzi co do pracy i wytworów rąk, co jest bardzo wyjątkowe w dzisiejszym świecie.
Pierwszą wystawę grupy A-21 zainicjowała Katarzyna Kujawska-Murphy w 2000 roku i współtworzyła obustronną wymianę środowisk artystycznych polskich i japońskich trwających do dzisiaj, w tym rezydencje w Uniwersytecie Sztuki UAP w Poznaniu.

A-21 International Art Exhibition is a group of Japanese artists gathered in Osaka (one of the largest city of Japan) and the Kansai region. Since 2000 the Group has significantly become a part of artistic life in Europe, particularly in Poland, but also in Germany, France and England. Most of the project received patronage of Polish Embassy in Tokyo, Japanese Embassy and Consulate in Warsaw.
The A-21 International Art Exhibition group belongs to one of very eminent groups of artists in Osaka. Artists are not being driven by the rules of a modern world’s art. Therefore they can display the heart of Japanese people and this is followed in their contemporary art. Moreover the Group also reflects the roots of the old Japanese culture – 1000 years old until the modern times. You can expect the representation of a very special Japanese people’s sensitivity which is very unique and not seen in the world.
The group A-21 International Art Exhibition presents artifacts of many artists working in various media. Despite this diversity, we can find the whole spectrum of contemporary aesthetics of Japanese art, although the main medium is painting, but also glass art, sculpture, installation, graphics.
The technique and form of all the works perform very high standards, sometimes absorbing weeks of systematic, almost meditative work. It often happens that the artists themselves create the paper, which later use in their work. At the very beginning the group was invited to Poland by Kasia Kujawska-Murphy and since then there has been taking part art-exchange between Japanese-Polish artists including residency at Art University in Poznan.
